Privacy policy

Plain English, no surprises. Last updated July 2, 2026.

The short version

We collect the minimum we need to run a community events guide and a free email digest. We never sell your information. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Email [email protected] any time to see, fix, or delete what we have about you.

What we collect

Newsletter signup.Your email address, plus whatever optional details you choose to share: name, cell number (only if you want SMS), the regions you care about, your interests, your home church, and a few optional survey questions (like age range or whether you have kids). The optional answers exist so your digest shows events you'd actually attend — you can skip all of them and still get the digest.

Claim requests. If you claim a church or business listing, we collect your name, email, phone (optional), and role so we can verify you really represent it.

Listings.Church and business listings are built from publicly available information — mostly the organizations' own websites. That's information about organizations, not about you. How our bot works.

Email you send us. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can follow up.

How we use it

To send you the digest you asked for, personalize which events it highlights, verify listing claims, answer your messages, and understand in aggregate how the site is doing. That's it. We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information — to sponsors or anyone else. Sponsors only ever see aggregate numbers (like total subscriber counts), never your details.

Analytics & advertising

Site analytics run on Plausible, a privacy-first tool that uses no cookies and doesn't track you across the web. A small number of our ad landing pages (like /join) also use Meta's pixel so we can tell whether ads we pay for actually work; that only applies on those pages and follows Meta's own privacy terms.

Email & SMS

We're Canadian, and we take Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) seriously. You only get emails you signed up for: the twice-weekly digest, a welcome note, and the occasional important update. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe that works immediately. SMS is strictly opt-in — we'll only ever text you if you chose SMS delivery and gave us your number.

Who else touches the data

Like nearly every website, we rely on a few service providers to operate: hosting and a database, and an email delivery service that sends the digest. They process data on our behalf to provide the service and nothing more.

Your choices

Unsubscribe with one click from any email. Update your preferences any time from the link in your digest. And you can always email [email protected] to ask what we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted — we'll do it, and we'll confirm when it's done.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle newsletter data, we'll mention it in the digest too.
