About Local Church

A free guide to what's happening at churches near you.

Church life doesn't happen in one place online. One congregation posts events on Facebook, another buries them in a PDF bulletin, another has a beautiful website nobody updates. If you're looking for a worship night, a youth group, a free community dinner, or a Bible study this week, you'd have to check dozens of sites to find it.

Local Church puts it all in one place. We gather events from churches' own websites, check them, and publish a single calendar for the community — plus a free email digest twice a week so you never miss what's coming up.

How the listings work

Our software visits church websites regularly and reads their public event pages — here's exactly how that works. Events are re-checked against the source, and anything that looks off gets held back for human review. We work hard on accuracy, but churches change plans — always confirm details with the church before heading out.

Churches don't pay to be listed, and never will. If you're with a church and want to fix details, manage your page, or be removed entirely, you can find your church and claim it, or just contact us.

Who pays for this

The site and newsletter are free for churches and for you. The bills get paid by our anchor sponsor Thunder Spray — a Christian-owned Windsor-Essex business — plus a small directory of paid business placements and optional featured church spots. Paid placements are always labeled. Sponsors never get your personal information.

Where we operate

We started with Windsor-Essex-Leamington, Ontario, and we're growing region by region across Canada. Local Church is independently run — we're not owned by or affiliated with any church or denomination, and we list events across many Christian traditions. We make editorial calls about what fits the guide, and any church can ask to be updated or removed at any time.
